New York New York

My 8th trip to New York - and as always, it didn't disappoint.  The weather was very kind, nice and sunny - a little on the warm side at times, but the city embraced it and it was lovely to be down in Little Italy on a Saturday afternoon with all the restaurant's taking advantage of the closed street and moving their tables outside.  It was Labor Day weekend which made it particularly busy, but an advantage if you like to shop - as in my experience whenever it is a US holiday, the major stores seem to have holiday sales - 40% seemed the norm.

Our days were jam packed with sights/shops we had on our list to see and do and the time just flew by.  Breakfast at Ellen's Stardust Diner was a great way to start our first morning when we up and off so early to avoid the queues - a must if you are a musical theatre fan.

Topof the Rock in my opinion gives a great view of the city - all of Central park, Chrysler Building and the Empire State, there are quite a few to choose from so if heights/views are your thing - you are spoilt for choice in New York.

3 nights was just not long enough but on the upside - it just means I will have to plan a return visit soon!
