Although I have only every visited Crete whilst calling from a cruise ship, this October I enjoyed a lovely holiday to the very lovely St Nicolas Bay Resort in Aghios Nikolaos.  What a treat it was - set out in a village style, with it's own private beach and sea front bathing areas.  The food in the hotel was excellent and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.  I also was lucky enough to visit the Domes of Elounda hotel which is in a superb location overlooking Spinalonga.  Another stunning hotel, various dining options on site including Core, adult only areas, family pool and beautiful beach club.  Would highly recommend either hotel and already planning my return visit to explore more of Crete.
